We are a fully private dental clinic based in Edinburgh offering patients specialist treatments such as dental implants, restorative dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics and dental hygiene. The business started trading in 2011 and has achieved significant growth; with an annual turnover in excess of £4.5m. Now operating across two sites in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced management accountant to join a successful business with significant growth plans and become an integral part of the management team.
Duties and responsibilities include:
· Manage the accounting function and maintain accurate accounting records and procedures;
· Produce monthly management accounts – for each practice and consolidated – with supporting analytical reports;
· Produce an annual accounts reporting pack; liaising and providing information to the external accountants;
· Provide support to the practice owner and general manager in terms of analysing and managing
productivity of the dental clinicians, cost control and financial decision making;
· Prepare detailed budgets and forecasts and use these to measure against actual trading performance and ensure spending is maintained within budget;
· Take responsibility for gathering payroll data and submitting it to our external payroll provider.
· Manage and supervise part-time accounts assistant; holding 1:1 meetings/appraisals and mentoring them in their role.
· Lead the annual stock take; controlling and monitoring the business spend.
· General financial and administration duties.
In addition to the above, you will have the following:
· Qualified in (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE Accountant, with experience of working in a similar role;
· Digitally focused with a desire to challenge and improve on existing systems and procedures;
· Hands-on experience of the Xero accounting system;
· Strong MS Excel skills;
· Good communication skills;
· Strong numerical & analytical skills with good attention to detail;
· Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
