What Our Patients Say...

Mrs B. Grieve’s Story

“My experience with Vermilion was, quite literally, life changing. I always used to try not to open my lips too wide when I spoke to people and often covered my mouth. Since my course of treatments, my partner has noticed a massive improvement in my confidence, both at work and at home. He says he has never known me to look so happy and smile so much. ”

Common Questions & Answers

General dentistry involves routine care like check-ups, cleanings, fillings, and extractions. General dentists typically handle a wide range of dental issues and are usually the first point of contact.

Specialist dentistry, on the other hand, addresses complex treatments like dental implants, orthodontics, periodontics, endodontics and oral surgery. Specialists have extra knowledge and training for these advanced procedures.

Vermilion is a specialist clinic offering advanced dental treatments. We work on a referral basis, partnering with general dentists to ensure our patients receive the best care for their needs.

At your first appointment at Vermilion’s dental practice, you will receive a comprehensive dental examination. This will involve reviewing your medical history, taking dental X-rays if necessary, and having an in-depth conversation with our dentists about your oral health concerns and potential treatment options. Our goal is to ensure you’re comfortable and well-informed throughout your visit.

At Vermilion – The Smile Experts, all patients are required to be referred by their general dental practitioner (GDP). If you’re registered with a dentist and experiencing a dental emergency, please contact them first.

For emergencies related to ongoing treatment at Vermilion, you can reach our on-call dentist by calling 0131 334 1802.

If you do not have a regular dentist and encounter a dental emergency during office hours, we may be able to accommodate you based on appointment availability. We will address your immediate needs and assist you in finding a general practitioner for ongoing care.

Yes, at Vermilion, we offer sedation dentistry options for patients experiencing dental anxiety or undergoing complex dental procedures. Our experienced team will discuss these options with you during your consultation to ensure your dental experience is as stress-free as possible.

We accept payments via debit cards, BACS and insurance. Please note that we do not accept cash or cheques. For further details regarding payment arrangements, our reception team will be happy to assist you during your visit.

If you are unable to attend, please contact our reception team to reschedule. We require 48 hours’ notice to cancel or re-arrange appointments. Failure to attend or failing to provide 48 hours notice when cancelling appointments will result in you being charged a fee of up to 100% depending on treatment fee or based on appointment length at £350 per hour, whichever is less.

We will always take exceptional circumstances into account if the unforeseen happens and you have reason to cancel an appointment at short notice.
